Pretty pastels for spring
Added on 01/02/10
Spring is coming! We can smell it in the air, well almost! Well here’s hoping anyway. If you’re looking for a way to brighten up the dull, grey British day than look no further. The shops are bursting with spring blooms, all of which come in pretty pastel shades. Snap these up to take your winter look effortlessly into spring.
The ultimate piece is a ditzy print tea dress. Layer it up with leggings and a long sleeve tee, just until the weather brightens. Throw on a fitted leather jacket to toughen up your girlie look and keep your toes snug in a pair of slouchy
knee high boots. The dress can also be worn with flip flops or jeweled sandals once the sun finally peeks its head out of the clouds.
Make sure you pile on the vintage style boho jewelry, and keep it asymmetrical and messy, for laid back chic. A chunky waist belt will work to break up your look. Not only does this provide a nice touch, but its also easy on the eye. Then layer on a waistcoat, you could even try a sparkly one to dress your look up for the evening.
For the perfect festival attire, a large woven sunhat and oversized shades will complete your look and protect you from the elements. Grab a tanned leather satchel style bag; tousle your hair and your ready to roll. Sienna Miller eat your heart out.
If you can’t bear full on florals there are still some pieces that are hot for spring. Perhaps try a sheer blouse tucked into high waist jeans or denim shorts, for a subtle feel. Team with tights, a killer wedge shoe and denim jacket for quirky cool. Alternatively, for a more laid back look try bare legs and tan suede pixie boots. An oversized slouchy bag is the finishing touch to your spring transformation.
